These boots fit like a glove the minute I put them on and offered great arch support for my overpronation. There's also plenty of toe room, while still looking streamlined. I believe there would have been no break-in period whatsoever. I really loved these boots, but I had ordered several pairs of black booties, and couldn't keep them all. In the end, I returned these because the style wasn't quite what I was looking for, but it was a regretful return because they are just sooo comfortable. I think these boots would be great with skirts and tights as well as with pants.
If you are wondering (like I was) what the leather is on these (it's hard to tell from the photos), it is leather that is very, very slightly distressed (not shiny). There is no suede on them (to me, the top part of the boot looked suede in the photos). The leather is super soft. Also, the buckle on the back is actually adjustable, so these would be great if you have thin ankles.
