Women's Education

As teachers are often on their feet for long periods of time, it’s imperative that they are fully supported to avoid foot pain and fatigue at the end of the day. Look for comfortable shoes that fit you well, provide adequate support, and adhere to your workplace’s dress code. If your school allows for more casual wear, then shoes like sneakers are an excellent choice, as they promise cushioned comfort – perfect for being on your feet for long periods of time. For schools that require more formal/business casual attire, then The Walking Company dress shoes would be the ideal choice of footwear, as they are engineered to provide comfort without sacrificing style.

So long as your school’s dress code allows it, sneakers can be a great pair of shoes for teachers. They provide adequate support for your feet, keeping you stable and comfortable while you’re on your feet all day long. However, different footwear may be required if your school has a stricter dress code.

The Walking Company recommends wearing shoes that provide proper support, offering ample cushioning, balance, and shock absorption to not strain your feet when you’re standing all day. Shoes like the ABEO MXV Shift or the ABEO MXV Quest are excellent options, as they boast superior arch and heel support to reduce pressure on joints. They also come with removable orthotics, giving you anatomical support and responsive cushioning to help you stay on your feet all day without any issues.

Flats for women can be appropriate shoes for the office. Despite not being high heels, these dress shoes still offer an air of elegance to dress up your work look. They’re also much easier to walk and stand in, making them the perfect pair of shoes to wear for days when you’re required all around the office.

When working long hours, especially long hours on your feet, it’s best to pick footwear that feels comfortable and fits your feet well. The Walking Company offers orthopedic shoes in a variety of styles and silhouettes that are excellent for working long hours, as our footwear is built to provide your feet with the support they need. We offer heels for women like the ABEO Tempo Pump, which gives you added height while still feeling comfortable thanks to its orthotic footbed that provides arch support and proper cushioning. We also feature dress shoes for men from the top footwear brands in the market, offering shoes like loafers and even dressier sneakers to suit every sort of dress code.

Podiatrists recommend walking shoes that offer arch support, cushioning, and a spacious toe box. Ideally, the most comfortable shoes you’ll find are ones that are personally fitted to your feet, so it’s strongly encouraged to consult with your podiatrist to better understand your foot type.
