DISTRICT MANAGER

Position Summary:
The District Manager is responsible for the overall vision, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the district. Will be engaged in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

Maximize Sales

  • Ensure quality customer service
  • Ensure appropriate staffing in all district stores prior to seasonal peaks
  • Execute staff reduction after peak selling seasons
  • Meet or exceed company guidelines for all Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Responsible for coaching Store Managers on how to train staff on effective sales training through the 8 Step Selling Process
  • Achieve sales and payroll goals and plan
  • Implement sales contests
  • Implement marketing strategies and events and building brand awareness
  • Forecasting and monitoring sales goals at store level

Merchandising

  • Maintain company visual standards, policies, and direction
  • Verify district wide promotion changes to Director or Retail Operations upon completion
  • Advise Director of Retail Operations and the Allocations Department of product assortment challenges through use of the intranet and other company tools
  • Recognize district product assortment opportunities and initiates transfers per policy
  • Responsible to hand carry / inter district transfers when needed
  • Monitor and control the proper policies for transferring product
  • Liquidate sales merchandise through effective signs, ticketing, and merchandising
  • Ensure that damage are transferred and processed correctly and timely
  • Ensure correct fixture placement and proper use
  • Inform Director of Allocation, product and pricing problems; recommends solutions
  • Enforce quality housekeeping standards and policies

Operations

  • Resolve all loss prevention issues in an effective and timely manner
  • Communicate urgent issues in a timely manner to Director of Retail Operations and Loss Prevention Department
  • Maintain acceptable scores on LP audits (.35% or better)
  • Maintain budgets, travel, payroll, etc.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding company payroll for the district
  • Supervise stock inventories
  • Supervise target store and ensure the program is executed thoroughly
  • Responsible for understanding and execution of all Policies and Procedures at DM and store level
  • Auditing of store level time keeping

Staff Supervision

  • Actively recruit quality management candidates
  • Maintain a contact file for recruiting measures and staffing needs
  • Train Store Managers to recruit and develop associates
  • Provide guidance and coaching to store managers through weekly conference calls and one on one training
  • Ensure that all stores are accurate and timely with completion of all paperwork involving hiring, reviews, counseling notes, disciplinary actions, and termination
  • All store Human Resources paperwork is within compliance and audited monthly
  • Develop Store Managers for promotion to the next level (i.e. higher volume store, District Manager candidate)
  • Identify exceptional associates and implements a developmental plan
  • Administer performance programs including performance reviews progressive discipline and Quarterly Developmental Updates (QDU)
  • Maintain high integrity of associates by ensuring that all store management new hires receive security checks
  • Ensure that associates are trained in sales, loss prevention, merchandising, product knowledge, customer service and other applicable operations
  • Advises Director of Store Development of training needs
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws
  • Assess store morale; resolves problems

Working Relationships

  • Supervise Store Managers; works closely with Corporate Departments
  • Takes active role in offering input on topics
  • Actively participates in group meetings, conference calls
  • Supports peer group

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Three to five years management experience
  • Multi store supervision desired
  • College Degree desired

STORE MANAGER

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain company standards in all areas of operation.
  • Approach business with a sense of urgency and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Effectively merchandises the store to maximize sales.
  • Train staff to effectively perform all job responsibilities.
  • Lead by example, and set the selling floor standard.
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws.
  • Assess store morale and resolve all issues.
  • Specific footwear retail and/or management experience preferred but not required

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

Assist Store Manager with:

  • Effectively merchandising the store to maximize sales.
  • Help train staff to effectively perform all job responsibilities.
  • Lead by example, and set the selling floor standard.
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws.
  • Assess store morale and assist SM to resolve all issues.
  • Specific footwear retail and/or management experience preferred but not required

3rd KEY

  • Assist Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers in all aspects of store presentation, sales, floor standards.

SALES ASSOCIATES - PART TIME / FULL TIME

  • Strives to achieve store goals.
  • Delivers customer service
  • Assist in maintaining the store to meet the company merchandising standards
  • Maintains standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Sets up and revises merchandising presentations as directed by the store management team.
  • Assists in procedures for receiving stock shipments and transferring merchandise
  • Maintains store safety standards.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Specific retail footwear experience preferred
