Good for business casual wear
Good finish. Minor color variations on both shoes- not readily apparent nor a problem. Walk all day comfortably. Used the second insole liner provided as the run a bit large. The sizers solved that. Bought for the design and am satisfied. Would buy again.
With metatarsal insert - amazing! …………………………………...
A great shoe with a minor let down
I really love this shoe in almost all respects. It is handsome, very comfortable, and well-constructed. I've had the pair about a month now and have worn them numerous times as theyve already replaced some of my previous comfortable/casual business shoes. They look good with jeans and khakis. My only minor quibble is that as they run a tad wide, I have to cinch down the laces quite tightly to avoid heel slippage and have a snug feel around my foot (some may not like it as snug so this wouldnt be an issue for them). The lace selected for this shoe is a smaller, round cord which tends to dig in through the tongue of the shoe a bit so, when I do snug up the laces I get a pressure point on the top of my foot. It also may pose a wear issue over time. But overall, Id buy a pair of these in black too!
My salesperson insisted this was the shoe for me. I felt initially that it lacked the support I was used to. She insisted I needed that shoe in that size. My response was that I thought it might be too comfortable! But bought them anyway. Went on a trip overseas with lots of walking, which is why I bought the shoes. As the shoes stretched they became even less supportive. Not sure if my problems are the shoe or the salesperson but I no longer wear the shoes.
abeo orthotic inserts don’t work for all feet
The abeo Markley is a very nice shoe—good nice design, good quality, very comfortable. The Walking Co. staff at my local store is great too. What’s not so great are the abeo orthotic inserts, at least not for my feet. The staff tried the full range of inserts, and none of them fit my feet. The arch support is too far back on the sole of my foot, so it pokes near my heels uncomfortably and provides no support for my arches. I’ve never had this issue with other shoes. It’s too bad because I really like everything else about the shoes.
