    Velcro wears out. Sole does not.

    I have owned several pairs of these and the Abeos sandals. I have a very narrow and low volume foot. The Eccos do not allow me to tighten the ankle strap enough. The velco on both sandals wears out well before the shoe.

    I am a supinator (foor strikes on the outside of the heel) and the Abeos heel soon wears down on the outside, while the Eccos do not compress. Essentially I am agreeing with Tillersweep.
